Humming Birds

Fun, Home, computers and internet No Comments

How about we enlighten our zoological senses, by learning something fascinating about humming birds?
Ever seen these beautiful tiny hovering birds? They are simply amazing.
These tiny birds weigh no more than 3-4 grams, and they can amazingly fly at speeds above 35mph.
These birds normally thrive on the nectar from flowers and they are a great contributors for pollination (meaning: they help plants multiply), I got extremely attracted to these cute birds and did my research on them, which is also the reason for this post.
I would tell this for sure, the more you get to know about these beautiful birds the more you get interested in them. As a matter of fact I got convinced to buy hummingbird feeders for my yard, to admire this awesome creation of nature.

A Yemen Airways passenger plane with 150 people on board crashed in the Indian Ocean island of Comoros early on Tuesday, at least 10 people were killed and 50 injured after a freight train derailed and two railway cars filled with liquid gas exploded at a station in the Tuscan port city of Viareggio in Italy.

Yemen Airways crash
“The plane crashed in the sea 15 minutes ahead of the scheduled time of arrival in Moroni,” the official told DPA.

“We have no information whether there are any survivors,” he said. The 150 people on board Yemen Airways flight IY 628 included passengers and crew.

The Airbus 310 plane was flying from Yemen capital Sana’a to Comoros. A company official said that most of the passengers were expatriates from Comoros who were in transit from Paris.

Comoros is located off the eastern coast of Africa between Madagascar and Mozambique.

Smoking Child!

world No Comments

Something to get your attention, this is a news extract about a child who started smoking at a very young stage.

Tong Liangliang, an ordinary 2.5 years old child who lives in China. Liang Liang smokes a pack of cigarettes daily.

As it turned out, his parents gave him the first cigarette at age 1.5 to relieve pain.

Tong was born with hernia and it was dangerous to operate it his its infancy.

The boy suffered from severe pain and to distract him from the anguish, the father gave him a smoke.

Over time, Tong got addicted to smoking. Now the parents can’t get him to stop smoking.

Tong goes through the same withdrawal symptoms as an adult. Every time he sees someone smoking, he asks for a cigarette and becomes agitated and angry if refused.

There have been no reports of any doctor caring for Liang Liang.

“The father wasn’t aware how serious the toddler’s habit had become until the child began to increase the number of cigarettes he smoked per day,” a Chinese news agency was quoted as saying.

Record unlikely

However, The Guinness World Records may not accept the feat.

It has refused such requests before on the grounds that it “promoted a harmful habit”.

In 2005, a 37-year-old Chinese man submitted an application to the Guinness Book of records, claiming he had started smoking at the age of three and was the world’s youngest smoker. His application was denied on the grounds that it promoted a harmful habit.

Where do his children go from here? What happens to his debts? Was there a will? Where are his record sales heading after his death? Is his family satisfied with the autopsy?

His body
His family might seek a second independent autopsy as they have “questions” about the cause of the pop star’s sudden collapse and death on Thursday. Veteran US politician and activist Jesse Jackson, who met members of the Jackson family at their Encino compound, said they were angry and frustrated by “unanswered questions” surrounding Jackson’s death. Jesse Jackson, who is not related to the family, said the relatives also wanted to know the role of the singer’s doctor, Conrad Murray.

His children
Legal experts see a big battle ahead, not only for what remains of his fortune but also for the custody of his children who would stand to inherit his money. 12-year-old Michael Joseph “Prince” Jackson Jr, 11-year-old Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and 7-year-old Prince Michael II Jackson were in Jackson’s sole custody after his divorce from Debbie Rowe, the two older kids’ biological mother. It is not known if a will has been left behind but friends say he might have wanted his mother to have custody of his children.

His debts
He made $50 million a year and his overall worth was believed to be around $750 million. Yet, when he died, Michael Jackson was $500 million in debt. He spent simply millions on extravagant buys that made headlines the world over. It is reported that there was no financial planning, not for himself, neither for his children. However, at the time of his death, he still had part-ownership to 251 songs written by Paul McCartney and John Lennon, worth $1 billion.

The concerts
Michael Jackson was to do 50 concerts starting July 13. It is believed that organisers are expecting to recover some costs through insurance. But nothing is known about how they will refund fans who’d bought tickets priced between £50-75 each. Total losses incurred will be north of £300 million. This includes the cost of the venue, O2 Arena in London, as it will now lie unused for the duration of the show. £50 million is estimated to have been spent on 7.5 lakh tickets.

Record sales
Sales of his albums have gone up. Rajesh Salian, Landmark, Andheri said, “Michael Jackson’s 25th Anniversary Deluxe edition DVD is sold out.” Rhythm House’s Mehmood Curmally says, “We have sold around 70 copies of his music since Friday. Sivaraman Balkrishana, deputy manager, marketing, Crossword said, “In Mumbai we used to sell 15 to 20 albums in a week. We sold 15 on Saturday. The most selling album is The Essential Michael Jackson followed by Dangerous and Thriller.”

Sour Relationship: Ex-gf’s revenge

Really bored? Check out this news making incident.

A Malaysian man is appealing to his former girlfriend to stop circulating his nude pictures and to destroy them.

Ng Lum Heng, 44, has sought the help of the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) Public Services and Complaints Department after the woman e-mailed his nude pictures to his wife, friends and colleagues.

This may be a reversal of roles the world over, particularly in Malaysia where women politicians, TV celebrities and commoners alike are victims of the wrath of their jilted male lovers who resort to circulating nude pictures of their former partners.

Ng claimed he had been living with the 42-year-old woman for three years. In April, he decided to take up a job in Qatar because he was facing financial problems.

However, the woman thought it was an excuse to leave her and they had an argument, The Star newspaper said Saturday.

While in Qatar, both communicated through the Internet and used a webcam. Ng claimed the woman had saved images of him in the nude.

On returning from Qatar, he discovered the woman had emptied out the house where they were staying.

He did not suspect anything amiss. They even went on a holiday together but Ng did not see the woman after that.

They still kept in touch through the phone, with the woman always urging him to divorce his wife. He had left his wife of nine years and two young sons due to marital problems.

On June 20, his wife, friends and colleagues received e-mails containing his nude pictures. And Ng lost his job in Qatar as a result.

He does not plan to lodge a police report but will do so if the woman does not stop circulating the pictures, the newspaper said.

MCA Department chief Michael Chong said he had received 22 similar cases since 2006, four of them involving male victims.

In more than half of the cases, the victims were unaware they were being filmed, Chong said.

Another recent controversy involves state level minister Elizabeth Wong, who took a two-month holiday to escape the public debate.

Her nude pictures have kept appearing even after she resumed work. She says she must learn to live with it.

Media debate on the deliberate misuse of the Internet to settle personal scores in which women are victims has raised a question: why do women allow themselves to be pictured or filmed in the nude or in intimate situations?

The response to this is that they are either cheated or coaxed into being filmed. In many cases, they get persuaded to keep up the relationship, only to regret when it goes sour.
